Newark - Market Place & Castle
The Hunt for the Real Golden Bow
To celebrate the opening of the Newark School of Violin Making in 1975, master fiddle-maker Viola Vibrato created a special violin and a golden bow, said to have the ability to make any violin sing with the most exquisitely smooth tones. However, the bow didn't live up to expectations and it and the inaugural fiddle were relegated to a display cabinet in the school foyer.
Last week, an over-zealous cleaner was polishing the violin when it fell to the floor and popped open. Inside was a treasure map entitled "The location of the real golden bow". Great fiddlesticks! It appears that the bow in the school is a fake! What's more, there's a set of clues scribbled on the back of the map. The hunt is on to find the real golden bow!
