As you follow the Trail route, you'll encounter sneaky clues hidden on existing buildings, permanent features, and monuments, leading you to the location of the buried treasure. The route begins at High Barnet station and takes you on a scenic walk along historic Wood Street, where you'll see many interesting buildings. Your journey will then lead you to Hadley Green, the site of the famous Battle of Barnet in 1471. This battle, a significant turning point in the Wars of the Roses, decided the outcome of the struggle between the royal houses of Lancaster and York. This Trail has been sponsored by the Love Barnet organization and Ye Olde Mitre Inne, the oldest remaining coaching inn in Barnet, where hungry and thirsty treasure-seekers can enjoy a warm welcome at the end of the Trail!
